Never before has Hie opportunity been afforded citizens of New Plymouth of bearing a programme of music such as il to be presented on Tuesday evening next by the international Exhibition Orchestra. The playing of this magnificent body of instrumentalists has been one of the most notable features in connection with the recently-closed Exhibition. There were many who found fault with the action of the (Government in engaging musicians from all over Australasia to form an Exhibition orchestra, but now everyone is agreed that brilliant results have been achieved, and those responsible for its engagement are to be heartily congratulated. One concert only is to be given in New Plymoulh. and. as the lirst programme \<i the Auckland season is to be given on Wednesday, special arrangements have been made with the I'nion Company (o detain Tuesday night's steamer mid so enable the orchestra to leave after the performance. Special attention is drawn to the fact that the performance is to commence punctually at a quarter to eight. The vocalist of the evening will be Mr. • lohn I'rouse. th uinent baritone, whose reappearance after his recent .success in I lie old country, will be looked forward to with pleasure. The box plan is to open Ibis morning af the Dresden Company.
