On May Ist, we submitted a good catalogue to a full atrendanee of buyers. There was an easier tone in hides. Skins were in keen oe.aiand, while tallow advanced considerably. In sympathy with the recent drop in prices in Australia, hides dropped about \'A per lb all round. The prices realised .for prime i.ales were better than those obtained in Wellington and other centres.
