• MR NEWTON KING'S RETORT. At the Maymarket on Saturday a fai number of pigs were penned. Weaner made 3s 6d to 6s, good do. 10s, smal stores 13s to 20s, baconers £2 ss, ligh trap mare £l6 10s, trap £lO. At the Hart there was a large entr of poultry, which sold at satisfactor prices, ducks making Is to Is Bcl, pullet Is 7d to 2s 3d, hens Is to Is 9d, cockerel lOd to Is 7d, turkey hens 4s Od to 4s 9il gfioblers (is Od to 7s 3d. A quantity o funiture and sundries was disposed of a fair rates. Fruit.—The following were rulinj rates during the past week: Apples, des sert, 0s to 8s; cookers, 4s to 5s (Id; pears 4s Od to 7s; bananas, green, 4s to 7s. Cattle: I held my autumn cattle sah at Awakina on Friday, 25th ult., whei there was a good yarding of mosth grown cattle, principally steers. 3 t< 3'/4 years bullocks made £i 3s Od to £i ss; 3-year, fresh condition, do., £5; ]£ to 18 months empty heifers, 20s to 235; forward cows, £3 0s to £3 17s Od: fat do.. £4 Is to £4 9s. At Wawakaiho on Tuesday, weaners made 13s to 18s; steers do., 21s; 12 to 18 months strees, £1 10s to £2; store cows, £1 4s Od to £-2; fat do., £3 10s Od to £4 10s Od. Mr. R. Luxton's dairy cows were a nice lot, but owing to the season of the year did not make high values,, prices ranging from 31s to £4 10s; Jersey springers, £5 to £5 10s. At Toko on Monday, weaners made 10s to 18s Od; 18 months steers 32s 6d; store cows £2 7s 6d to £3 10s; springers £5 ss. At Rahotu, on Thursday, nearly everything sold at fair prices. Weaners made 9s Od to 10s; 18 to 20 month heifers £2; 2'/o to 3 year steers, fresh condition, £4 10s; 3'/,-year do., £5 10s; store cows. 20s to 41s; fresh do.. £3 KJs to £4; bulls, £1 0s to £2 10s. WILSON" AND NOLAN'S REPORT. Messrs. Wilson and Nolan report as under:—Poultry: The pens were well filled, and prices were a shade easier. Fruit: A large consignment of island fruits arrived this week, and sold well. This was Fiji fruit, and in good order.
