Per Press Association. t'hristchurch, May 2. \\ ith regard to the Waimakariri electrical scheme, Mr. Dobson, the City Engineer, estimates tlmt, even with the half-power proposed, and charging a penny per unit for power and twopenco for light, the city can make sufficientprofit to enable it to be rate free. This could lie done, Mr. Dobson estimates, after paying interest on the cost of the works and maintenance and interest on the cost of distribution.
