Per Press Association. Wellington, May 2. The returns of the quantity ami value of exports from New Zealand during the financial year ended .list March are published in the Gazette. The exports of coal, gold, silver, and minerals are shown to have aggregated €2,534,805, as compared with £2,379,104 in the year before. Fisheries show only duli),B7i>, against £2(i,145 for the previous year, while a marked falling off is noticeable under the lie;*dings of fungus, kauri gum, and timber, the values for 11)117 being C831,l 03, as compared with £BBO,431 for the preceding twelve months. Under frozen meats, wool, tallow, butter, cheese, hides, live stock, bacon, and hams, etc., the year recently closed made a marked improvement, the ligures being £14,518.171 for 11107, and CI 1,4!);"),523 for 11)00, A falling oil' is shown in regard to the values of agricultural produce exported, the year having only £242,837 to its credit, as compared with £433,1)77 for the year preceding. The principal falling oil' is in wheat. Manufactures, leather, phormiuin and woollen-, etc., total £1,004,032. '".Miscellaneous" values are shown at C3SJH3. The total values of New Zealand produce and manufactures exported are set down at £111,277,040, the figures I'or the year ended .March, l!)0(i, being £l(i,10!),!)50. Specie is responsible for a large increase---£00,!K!0, against £20,117). The import values for the veal" are given at £11,028,005.
