Constable O'Halloran is at present lu charge of the Inglewood police station, relieving during Constable Duddj s absence on leave.
Three of our townsmen, Messrs Ab. Ad. and Harry Goldwater, are visiting Auckland to be present at the golden wedding o't their father and mother. Mr and Mrs Goldwater, senr., are well known in New Plymouth. The celebration is probably tile first among the Jewish community in Auckland. Mr and Mrs Goldwater arrived in Auckland in 1857, and are among the pioneers of the colony. In the early days Mr Goldwater assisted to defend his new home during ! tlie Maori wars. He was iu business lintil a few years ago, when he retired into private life.
