THERMAL ACTIVITY.

The Waikate geyser, M'hnkarewarcwa, which had been inactive since the opening of the railway line tn Rotoura some years ago, began playing about '.) o'clock this morning, and has continued since, with shots ranging from 20 to 70 feet. A large number of visitors and townspeople have gone (o Whakarewarewa to witness the eruption. There is great excitement among residents in Whakarewarewa.
