Mr F. A. Bremer, the well-known horse-'breeder, of Okaiawa, South Taranaki, has just purchased the Clydesdale entire. Lord Orskine, which is considered the (ine>t Clydesdale sire bred in ihe colony, from Air Hobert Clarke, of Tinwald, Canterbury, for the record sum of 800 guineas.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Egmont Lodge was held last evening. Three candidates were initiated and three proposed for "membership. Correspondence of more than usual importance was dealt with. An invitation was received from the Loyal Waitara Lodge for a cant tournament, hi be held on Tuesday, Slav 14th. Bro. Chi vers made a generous offer re conveying the members to Waitara, Jt ■was decided to invite the Druids to a friendly game of cribbage and euchre next lodge night, the 13th of May.
The Lgmont Lodge, No. 112, 1.0.Ct.T., held its weekly session in the Queen street schoolroom on Monday evening. Bro. -T. C.
