Per Press Association. Invercargill, April 2!>. At a big public meeting called by the Mayor at tin. request of the Employers' Association, and held to-night, it was resolved to protest against the proposed enforcement of the Factories' Act as regards till' Saturday half-holiday. Mr. llanan. M.11.1i., who was present, was requested to take steps to secure an alteration of the Act, and it was decided to send a copy of the resolution to the Minister of Labor. Mr. ITanan expressed himseir in favor of a universal Saturday hall-holiday, but, under the circumstances, a district referendum on the matter.
