Game.—The reports from the country districts are more encouraging with rcspe'et to pheasants and quail, which is in a measure accounted for the assistance given by a number of fanners, ami this only proves if a more active assistance were given by all farmers and sportsmen this district would soon :?.-

In conclusion, the Society calls the attention of all persons to a clause in the "Animals Protection Act," which says: "All persons found with a dog or gun oh any land shall be deemed to be in pursuit of game, and if not in possession of n license will be liable to conviction under tho Act."
