AN EXPLANATION. Christcliurcli, April 20. In reference to a Press Association message from Wellington received today to the effect that the New Zealand brunch of Alcock and Co., billiard table manufacturers, of Australia, had caused a writ to bo issued against the General Manager of the International Exhibition, claiming £IOOO damages for alleged wrongful detention of the company's billiard exhibit, Mr. Munro states that no exhibits of the company are being detained under any pretext whatever, and, as far as he knows, they have all been removed. The fittings and furnishings of a billiard-room proprietor nt the Exhibition have certainly been detained pending the payment of space money, but he has no reason to believe that the billiard table and other property belongs lo the Alcock Company.
