WOOLWICH ARSENAL.

AN EXPEDIENT PROPOSAL. Received 25th, 3.57 p.m. London, April 25. The authorities of Woolwich Arsenal are taking a ballot of all workmen cmployed regarding a proposal to close the shops on Saturdays. It is hoped by working five days a week to reduce the number of discharges one half, at an average of 3s fid per man. The majority of the Royal Laboratory employees approval the propsal. The ballots at other wontshops are proceeding.
