ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
IVr Press Association. t'hristehurcli, Aprl 24. A serious railway accident occurred at the JMiast railway station to-day. Jlrs Jordan, who is years of age, standing 011 the plaiiovin when the train came in, and, n'um some cause, which does not seem to have been noticed by the bystanders, she fell toward the train and was severely crushed between it and the kerbing of'the platform. She was brought into Christchurch by her son-in-law, Mr Patterson, mid admitted to the hospital shortly before one o'clock. It was found that one of her arms and several ribs were broken, and she had sustained severe scalp wounds.
