Miss Dollie Luthain. the beautiful and accomplished daughter of a wealthy American, committed suicide at midnight last night because her father had insist - ed on her returning to New Vork. She was married some years ago. but divorced her husband and again assumed her maiden name. She came to Paris a year ago to study art and music, took a pretty studio near the Pare de Moticeau. furnished it charmingly, and lived in elegant style with, the funds provided by her father. Miss Latham was very nervous all yesterday, and told her maid that her lather, had cabled a message saying that a k - she had decided to remain in Paris against his will he had stopped funds. 11l the evening sh" brightened' up. and when a friend came to spend the evening with her she put on u ball dress, and decorated her hair wiih llowers. "Although there are only two of us,'* she :-aid. "we'll pretend that -we are a party. It will be the last fun we shall have together for some time, for I am going away very soon." The two girls spent the evening at the piano playing and -im-ing. and live minutes after her friend left Doliio Lai ha laid down on her bed and shot herself through the heart"
