The Stanford University authorities had been in communication with the Inhibition authorities "with a view to sending a University team anil the New Zealand Union had replied suggesting a visit later in the season, 'but nothing definite had resulted so far.
The committee expresses gratification at the spread of Rugby in America. It had learned that there was a desire on the Pacific coast for a visit of a New Zealand team to America and expected a definite proposal by an early mail. The committee has under ' consideration the proposal of yneouraging Eugbv ill public schools. Tile balance-sheet shows a sound flnancal position. The year's working gives a profit of £302. Loans have h.'on granted (o Auckland £IOOO, Tarami ki £4OO, Wanganui £750, Southland .CI3OO, and further loans are alloted to Ilawkc's Bay £750, Wellington £IOOO. The former is in course of Arrangement, but. 'the Wellington Union did not avail itself of the allotment. It will be necessary for the incoming committee to arrange an intercliaiige of visits with Australia. At Ellliam on Thursday the Stratford senior iteani met and 'defeated tile local first team by 11 points (3 tries, one converted) to nil.
