The Chairman of the Board of Health states that careful investigation .shows that last week a firm ol stock and station agents imported a consignment of hides from New Zealand. They were shipped on a coastal steamer at New Plymouth, and afterwards placed aboard the Monowai. Only one bundle of hides was handled at Melbourne, and from this the man appears to have contracted the disease.
