On Monday "Messrs (I. and C. S. Curtis were cnlertaincd at Stratford howling ! gro.m on the eve of their departure for a I rip abroad . Messrs Curtis have been very iibcial helpers of the club, and the acknowledgement of their services was creditable to the club and a matter of satisfaction to all Taranuki bowlers. Mr X. .1. King, for four years Mayor of Stratford, is lo be publicly entertained by the burgesses and presented with a silver lea and collect service on the 25th in.-t. Mr King will not seek re-Ejec-tion. '
