The Hoard lias instructed me, therefore, to draw your attention to rule. i\o. 1 of the Wellington Harbor Hoard's regulations for its employees (dated the l:jth December, lflol, and' reissued Kith February, HUM), which read as follows:—Any employee, of the Board leceiving a gratuity,' either ir money or otherwise (without special permission from the secretary), renders himself liable to instant dismissal.—l am, sir yours truly, William Ferguson secretary."
