At the inquest on Henare Haawhc, the jury returned a verdict that deceased met his death on the Gisbome-Karaka, railway by being caught by the engine, no bliime being attachable to uuy of the ollicinls, who used every care and diligence. Death was caused, ns the doctor's testimony stated, from shock to the nervous system. The dead body of Miss Elizabeth Woods, aged 04, formerly of AucklujjLwas fouud in the Tarulierif Kivcr tins afternoon. Deceased, who resided with her married niece, had been in poor health, mid hud gone out last evening unknown at the time to others. lfokitika, April 1(1.
