The Minister tor Kdiication has informed Ihe various educational authorities of th" terms and condition" on 1 which it is proposal to admit scholarship hoider* to a. free university education, thi- being a development of the proposal to make education free from the primary school to the university. These are to be known as University Jhirsaries, and will be awarded to scholars, of either sex*, who, having resided in New Zealand for three years immediately preceding the date of matriculation in the l 7 niver-ity of New Zealand, have obtained a pass with credit at the Junior Scholarship or Senior National Scholarship examinations. Such -Indents will be allowed to hold the bursary for three years, with a possible extension for another year, and the (iovernment wile pay all their I'niversity fees up to a limit of C2O per year each. The holder of a bursary must comply with the conditions prescribed in the casn of holders of S.-nion National Sscholarsliips,
