TEACHERS' SALARIES.
Per Press Association. Dunedin, April 12. Sir T. Mackenzie, M.11.1t., chairman of the Otago Education Hoard, has given notice of the following motion fov the next meeting of the Hoard: That in order to place the teaching profession on a satisfactory basis, and also to secure for the youth of the colony efficient instruction, the Government'be urged to introduce at an early date, legislation providing For the classification and promotion of teachers, together with assured salaries, based on efficiency and length of service.
