TNE PREMIERS IN ENGLAND.
SIR J. 0. WARD'S DOINGS. TARIFF REFORMERS AND ME DEAKIN. Received lltli, 9.42 p.m. London, April 11. The municipality of Edinburgh confer the freedom of the city on the Premiers. The Hon. W. P. Reeves (High Commissioner) and Mrs Reeves, on behalf of the New Zealand Asscoiatlon, gave a reception to Sir Joseph and Lady Ward. There were 250 present. • Sir Joseph and Lady Ward attended the Jewish wedding of Moss Davis' daughter Ruby to Mr Harris* a Londoner, •Many New Zealanders were present. At the reception, Sir Jospeli Ward, proposing the health of the bride, announced the receipt of a great number of Auckland felicitations. He hoped the marriage of an esteemed iN'ew Zcaiander to a Londoner was emblematical of closer political union. Sir Joseph and Lady Ward dine on Tuesday with the Prince and Princess of Wales. Mr Deakin is inundated with requests from TariiT Reform Associations and sympathisers urging hnn to strongly advocate preference.
