I BRITISH KXI'KMTION TO START IN I OCTOBER. A new British South Polar expedition will leave Kngland in October next under the command of its organiser, Mr E. H. Shaeldetou. i Mr Shackleton was third lieutenant 'on the Discovery during the National Antarctic. Expedition, and, with Captain Scott and Dr Wilson, made the record 'journey to the "furthest south." liesides being a fellow of the Royal Geographical Soeietv, Mr Khackletnn is the King's medallist for Polar exploration, and the silver medallist of the Royal Geographical Society. j A new and novel feature is to be introduced into Jie expedition. A motor car will be used, an innovation modern '; ill method, and, according to the opinion 'of many Polar explorers, absolutely feasible.
