WAREA. The annual meeting of the Fanners' Union was held in the ball on Sa'turdnv evening. There was a fair attendance. Mr James Burgess gave a lengthy speech concerning Union matters of th e last year. Mr McLachlan thought the Government should do something to metal the roads in the back-blocks. Receipts were U!) 5s !ld, anil the expenditure IH3 15s Od, there thus being a credit balance of .C 5 10s 3d. The Union Sold this year 35 tons of manures. Mr Wiliian McLachlan was appointed delegate to attend the conference to be held in (New Plymouth next month. The remits to be. sent before the conference were Hi regard to loading back-blocks, and the collecting of native rales on native lands. Tne officers for the coining year were elected as follows: Presjdenl. Mr dames Burgess; vice-president, Mr George P. Jones; hnn. secretary, .Mr T. E. Larking (re-elected); 'treasurer, .Mr James Burgess; committee, Messrs James Millar, William McLnclilun, William Jtevcll, Charles Magon, Alfred Dueker and Edward Ayiward. The subseviplion was fixed at 5s for the coming year. The secretary was instructed to procure a rubber stamp. The Road Board matters were diseu-sed at length. _.\ motion was moved to form a small road board in this district. An amendment was carried unanimously to the effect that steps be taken to get the Pariliaka Road Board into wards'or sections. Mr • fames Burgess and Alfred Dueker were appointed to meet the Pariliaka Road Hoard at their next meeting. A meeting of the Domain Board was held in the library on Saturday evening. Mr J. Julian was in Hie chair. A fair number of members were present. Accounts to the amount of C2O were passed for payment.
