AUCKLAND REVENUE RETURNS.
Per Press Association. Auckland, April 0. Th» quarterly Customs returns for the period ending March 31, shows that the total receipts amounted to £215,828, as compared with £100,042 for the corresponding quarter last year, an increase . of £10,184. Customs duties amounted to £1(17,7(17, as against £182,448, atf increase of £15,320. The sum of £274 was collected under the excise duty clause, as against £lO2. C'onsolid»tti revenue yielded £200,293 - corresponding quarter) local revenue £0532 ( £0270). Under consolidated revenue, in addition to tlie Customs revenue, given above, £5074 was collected" under the Beer l)uty Act, against £5,">10, and £llls under the Tobaeco Duty Act, compared witli £370. The total duties under the general tariff amounted to £102,075, and under pre- •" fercntwl taiilt to £4870, compared with £173. <74 and £4264 respectively.
