.Mr A. (VHrien, Town Clerk and architect, Opunako, has left that town to take up Jdio positinu of county clerkto the Harbor Board at Whakatane. The leader of the Opposition, .Mr. AY'. F. Alasscy, who has been addressing meetings in the north of Auckland, intends to conduct a campaign in the Taranaki district at an early date. Mr. J. A'igur lirown, who was for many years a borough councillor, and who is at present chairman of the. Aapier Harbor Board, has consented to allow himself to be uninitiated for the Kapicr Mayoralty, says a press wire.
