WEBSTER BROS. REPORT. Webster Bros, report oil Saturday a fair supply of poultry and prices slight-' ly advanced. Cockerels made Kid to 1/8, hens Kid to l/:l, young ducks 1/ to 1/5. At the Ad<lington live stock market to-day, though the yarding of stock was good, it was not up to that of llic. previous week, with the exception of cattle, but prices generally were unchanged. The store sheep market was keen, but there was little change from hist week's prices. The fut sheep'pens contained some sheep of good quality, but a fail' proportion consisted of uniinished lets, which were not keenly sought after, although well-iinMicd sorts hionghf good values. Then' «',n a large entry of pigs, and prices for baconers wire somewhat belter than hist week. Of store sheep there was a yood entry, and the sale, was keen. 'Forward lambs showed an advance on late rates, and other el isses were about die >;\nv. Fat lambs were yarded in fairly large numbers, but the quality was not as good as in the previous week, though thev were up to late rates. Freezers brought 13/ to lfl/fi, heavy weights to 18/!), light and inferior ]i)/0 to 12/0. Fat sheep—Prime wethers 18/0 to 22/, ■ extra heavy to 25/(i, lighter 14/7 to 18/0, weth.'vs and maiden ewes 17/11 to 21!/, prime ewes 1(1/ to 20/, extra good to 21/, light a <<l unfinished 21/ to 25/0.
Fat cattle, 287 head of cattle were yardsd, a slight increase on last Wednesday's entry. Prime steers brought £0 15/ to £lO 2/0, extra up to £ll »/, equal to 20/ to 24/ per 1001b; heifers, £4 1.3/ to £8 10/; cows, £4 5/ to £7■2/0; calves, 4/ to £2. Store cattle—There was a small entry of store cattle, and the sale was dull. Yearlings brought from 15/ to 18/0; 2% to 3-year-old heifers, £3 to £3 7/0; 2-yenr-old steers, 35/ to £3 5/; dairy cows up to £9. Pigs— There was an excellent yarding of bacon pigs of a really good description. The competition was spirited, and prices ranged from 41/ to 00/, equal to from 4Vad to 4%d per lb. Porkers met with a keen demand at the opening of the sale, but towards the end were slightly easier. Prices were, from 32/ to 40/, equal from 5d to ")'/ 3 d per lb. Stores were yarded in small numbers, and met with a fair demand. Light and medium made 12/ to IS/; suckers and wcaners brought to 4/ to 10/(1. JIURXSIDE STOCK MARKET. Dunedin, April 3. At Burnside market 2300 sheep were penned. One extra special pen of wethers, sold by the Xational Mortgage Company, realised 2!)/. Quotations: Best wethers '22/0 to 24/0, good 10/ to 21/, medium from 13/ to 17/0; best ewes from 19/0 to 21/0. good 10/ to 18/, medium from to 10/. Lambs.—B3s penued, a full yarding. With the exception of two or three pens of store lambs the quality was good. Prices were equal to last week's rates. Quotations: —Best lambs 10/ to 17/. extra to 19/9, good 14/ to 15/0. medium 1(1/0 to 22/0, light 8/ to 1(1/. Pigs.—ls7 yarded, a medium yarding. There was a splendid demand for porkers and haconers, prices hoig sanwslgiht advance on late rates. Suckers and slips were easier, and showed a decline of from 1/ to 2/ per head. Quotations:—Baeoncrs £.' 15/ to £3 15/, porkers 38/ to 50/, slips 13/ to 17/, suckers (a poor sale) 2/ to 8/. Cattle— 319 yarded. There was a heavy yarding of cattle to-day, a large proportion of which were medium to good, with a pen or two of prime quality bullocks. Prices were firmer on last week's rales. Quotations:—Best bullocks from £9 10/ to £ll, medium from £7 3/ to £9, light £0 5/ to £7; prime heifers £0 10/ to £7 10/, medium £5 10/ to £O, inferior from £4 to £5.
