INVERCARGILL COURT RETURNS.

Jnvercargill, April 4, The quarterly returns of the Invercargill Police and Magistrate'* Courts show that during that period 171 people were charged, as against 127 during the same period last yenr, and 140 summarily convicted, as against 00. The figures show an increase in what may he culled minor crimes, the cases of drunkenness being 22, as against 1!), and the number of prohibition orders issued 19, as against 14.
