(By Telegraph.—Special Service). Christchureh, April 1. New Zealand attended the Exhibition 'toßiay in immense, numbers, the multitude that surged and crowded through the corridors all day having drawn Its units, one would think, from every part of the colony. Afte^ - Ihe weather cleared to-day, the grounds and out-door attractions received their full share of visitors, and "Wonderland'' and other sideshows were deservedly patronised. The Band of Hope demonstration which was held at the Exhibition after a procession through the city, was taken part in by a gruat number of young people. The various Bands of Hopes were welcomed by the Hon. Mr Fowlds in front of the Exhibition. The football matches, Linwood v. I'nion, nn'd Albions v. Athletics, attracted a large attendance to the sports ground. The concert hall was packed for the organ recital by Dr Bradshaw, of Christchurch Anglican Cathedral, and orchestral concert in the afternoon, and the second concert by the Diraedin Philharmonic Society. One of the most memorable events in musical history of the Exhibition, should be the. appearance iu the concert hall next Wednesday anld Friday evenings of Blanch Arral,*the. famous French soprano, in conjunction with the Exhibition orchestra. This will all'ord an oportunity of hearing Madame Arral in her operatic arias to the best ndyanf tage. The items on the programme will be selected from the, operas 'Triviata," "Lacknie" '-Carmen," "Dinorah," ami "Jlj'gnoii." The Exhibition authorities have consented to allow holders of tickets for these two concerts. free admission through tile turnstilos of the Exhibition. The Canadian Commissioner will delight a thousand school children during the present week. They have had manufactured ten thousand! sugar cakes from maple syrup that has been on exhibition in their court, and eacjh pupil -who visits the court Will be presented with a cake as an Easter gift.

The attendance to-dav just missed breaking the record, the total being -14,747, as against 4">,.14!) for show day. The takings at nearly all the side shows and the at tendance at th« art gnllerv and in the concert hall in the afternoon passed the previous record. The culminating feature of the magnificent last display of fireworks in the evening was an immense triumphant arch giving the approximate attendance to date with the words "Well done, Humo." The arch was loudly chewed. The agregate attendance is 1,720,153.
