This popular combination of favorites appeared, as was expected, to a full house on Master Monday night at the Theatre Royal. The Ta'ylor-Carriiigton troupe maintains its reputation by its choice of popular, sensational plays," and by acting them to the life. Last night was no exception to the rule, the pretty and exciting drama "Disowned" the holiday bill to perfection. Th" scenery, dressing, and acting all combined in the direction of enjoyment, and the house rang with applause as step by step the story ladder was built up, and the happy climax reached. Mr. Taylor was in his element, and made a host of friends in his role as Darby Dwyer, and Miss Ella Carriugton was no less suitably cast as Kale Desmond, and she made the most of her part. The stage arrangements and the whole piece went with a --wing throughout. "EVIOTKD." To-night the Taylor-Carriiiglon-Oniu-pnny will present the above-mimed Irish drama and from a Dunedin exchange we extract the following notice relative in its production there:—"lCvicted.'' the. play chosen for the company to reapepar in. was an interesting one, and drew forth warm applause from 'he audience. The drama deals with the cruelties practised by unscrupulous laudlords upon their unfortunate tenants. Because an innocent young Irish girl refuses to listen to words' of love from her mother's landlord, she and her mother have a distraint put upon the farm, whilst her lover is transported for a dime of which he is entirely innocent. However, thanks to the endeavor of mi Irish peasant girl and her lover, assisted by a kindly Sogarth, the play ends with the marriage of the hero ami heroine, and the removal to prison of (heir ouemy.the wicked landlord, together with a villainous accomplice of his named Tim (lie Penman. There are many exciting incidents in the play. Mr. Clias. Taylor, in the role of Brian O'Parrell, had a part which suited him very well. Ue was loudly applauded each lime he appeared on the stage. As Bedelia McGwire. Miss Ella Carrington was excellent, and her acting was waniilv applauded.. Mr. Ward Lvmis handled the role of the villain, llonrv Lol'tus, well, and .Mr. 11. Nhghi ingalc did full justice to the part of Patrick O'Donnell, and exiled Irishman. The character of Eileen Moriarity was well sustained by Miss Muriel Minion. The oilier characters were in capable hands.
