NEWTON KING'S REPORT. At the Haymarket on Saturday only a few pigs eame forward. Small store's made 11/0 to 18/, weaners (!/ to n/ti, Horses £1 5/ to C 7. At the mart there was an improved demand for pooltry, chicks making .VI to !M. pullets 1/1 to 1/7. hens l/:i to 1/ii. cockerels 1/2 |<!s.2/G, ducks I,'ii to 2/. Furniture and sundries made ordinary rate-. Fruit: There i, very lit.'le doing in the fruit, line, peaches and plum, arc practically finished, tomatoes and cucumbers are unsaleable, and bananas are unprocurable [lending arrival of Island boat expected about end of this week. Ruling prices aiv as follows: Dessert apples 3/ to 4/0 per y 4 ease (i/ to 8/fi per % case, cookers -2/ to 3/. pears 4/ to C/, passions 1/ to 2/fi, lemons 4/, tomatocK 1/ to 2/(i, cucumbers Cd to 1/. grapes lid to 1/, rock melons 5/. Cattle: At Stratford on Monday, there was a good yarding and attendance. A good many IS mos. steers came forward and bidding for these and also for weaners was slack, a good many pens going home. Mixed weaners made 7/ to 11/, 13 to 20 mos. steers £2 4/ to £2 15/, storaj cows £2 2/ to £2 8/6, fat and forward do., £3 1 to £4 11, bulls 21/ to 50/. At Stony River on Wednesday, there was a smaller yarding than usual fh> majority Tieing weaners. Priced for' the latter were easier than the previous sale ranging from 9/(! to 1(5/0, yearlings 28/, 3 year weaners £3 5/, store cows 30/.to 40/, forward do., £32/ to £3 0/, fat do., £4 2/ to £4 15/, bulls 30/ to 40/. Sheep—At Pohnknra on Wednesday, my supplementary sheop fair was well attended and nearly everything sold either at the hammer or privately f.m. ewes made 8/9 to 12/0, 2 tooth' wcthrirs 13/, wooly lambs 12/0, shorn tflo„ fl/5 to 11/1, cull do., 2/0 to 5/, 2 tooth rams £4 12/0 to £5, aged do 10/ to 27/0.
