The Concert Hall was crowded to excess for the second performance of the oratorio "IClijah," which was very finely given by the orchestra, ami a large choir. Two varied consignments of Auckland grapes comprising about thrcc-cpiarters of u ton, grown at the Government station at Wacrcnga, and about two tons sent down by private growers, arrived at the Exhibition to-day. .Samples were displayed in the Agricultural Department's court, and the rciie.nider of the grapes were sold to concessionaries for sale of fruit, by whom they were retailed at a rapid rate. The grapes arrived in fairly good condition. Two hundred and forty school cadets from lnvercargill arrived by the late express this evening. A number of Stint ford and llawcra boys, who remained behind when the rest of the Tarauaki contingent left yesterday, will take their departure on Friday. The Broken Hill Proprietary Company have presented to the Otago * School of Mines an interesting exhibit of lead crystals on view in the Xew Smith Wales Court. A handsome silver mug, suitably inscribed,' was presented yesterday lo'the thousandth baby to enter the Children's Pest. The infant is the daughter of a foreign exhibitor. The number of children to dale accommodated ill the Children's tlest is over 111011. The postponement of the (ireworks display and massed bands' performance till Saturday will add to an already brilliant accumulation of attractions for Easter visitors, and that period will have the unprecedented privilege of | witnessing two separate displays of Loudon fireworks within three '.days. Preparations are being made for the in-ter-club football matches on the Sports ' Ground on Saturday and .Monday, and arrangements are almost completed for the Pand of Hope demonstration on the lailer dale, which it is confidently expected will be the largest ever held'. The Dunedin Philarmouic Society and the Dunedin Harrison Hand will give a performance in the Concert Hall on Saturday and Moudav.
