UNITED GYMNASIUM CLUB

Fifty members attended the annual meeting of :the United Gymnasium Club, held iu the Whitcley Hall on Wednesday night. The president, Mr W. Airtburv, occupied the chair. _* The .secretary, Mr A. Harle, prcsefileil the annual report and balance sheet, which showed that last season had been successful in every way. The receipts last year were £lO2 Os lOd, and payments £OS 14s 4(1, leaving' a credit balance of £ll Gs Od, Assets comprised the whole of the plant.

Oilieers were elected: Patron, Mir Worship 'the Mayor; President, Mr \V. Ambury; vice-presidents, Drs I.calhani, Walker, Home, MeCleland. Pookos, Wylie, and Bleakley, Revs. S. S. Osborne a«d. T. li. Brooke, Messrs E. Cock. A. A. Pikett, H. Black, 8. Slmw, A. Amlmry, N. K. MacDiarmid, 0. K. BellW. 11. Skinner and C. Carter; secretary and treasurer, Mr S. Outran; instructor, Mr W. Lints; pianist, Mr J], Smith; ladies' committee, Misses Collis, Potier, Heidi, Sole and Hoddev; gentlemen's eon.mittee, Messrs Harle., J. Amflmry, McJsaac, Johnston, L, Okev ami V. Morshead.

Mr W. Ambury was desirous of relin quisling the presidency, but member; pointed out that ho had not been mere l.y an ornamental figurehead, but ar active interested worker; and he was re elected amidst applause. It was decided to meet for pt'acfici on four nights a week, ladies on Tues days and Thursdays, and gentlemen o> Mondays and Weclnoaays, in the Whi;o ley nail.

An opening social will he held or Thursday, April 18tli, and the lirst night's practice is fixed for Monday April 22nd.

A vote of thanks was aeovded M Harle for his work as secretary in tin past year.
