The following resolution was passed:—"That it be nolilied that it is the intention of the Council of the Horongh of Napier to apply for nu imlcr-in-Couneil authorising the installation of electric lighting and the construction of a tramway, to be run on the lines of Mr. Black's report, and further that the llawkes Pay Council, Taradale I own .Hoard, and the Whareomaiaenui Reclamation Syndicate be informed what rtteps the Council are taking, so that they also may take the necessary steps in case it is wished to extend the trams Irom the borough to Taradale."
