PARKER DEFEATED. Received 24th, 4.41 p.nl'. Sydney, March 24. The tennis tournament concluded in fine weather. The finals for the championships attracted a large attendance. Parker's success in tlft earlier stages of the Xew South Wales' .Single Championship left him to light out the final with "Horace Rice, of Xew South Wales. A splendid struggle resulted in the Welshman defeating the ex-Xew Zealander. o—4, (J—3, 3—o, 5—7, o—l. Rice secure the first two sets, ami Parker placed the next two to his credit. In the final tussle, Rice carried all before him, playing with great judgment and power, and keeping the attack on Parker's forehand. Parker showed line resourcefulness and science, but was, somewhat lacking in his usual dash towards the close. In the Ladies' Single Championship, Miss Pavten, holder, beat Miss D.
