Police Inspector Kicly. of Wanganui, is in town in connection with Supreme Court sessions.
Lord Pluukel and suite left Wellington for South by the liatoinahana last night. The Hon.' Mr. Uall-iones left for Christchurch at the same time, lie returns to Wellington on Sunday. Peter S. Hav, Knginecr-m-Chief of the Public Works' Department, died at Wellington to-night. Deceased contracted pleurisy last November, and had been in the hospital for some time, but relumed to Wellington last week. Many of our readers will be interestted to hear that Francis A. Tregelles, late of Xew Plymouth, has been appointed consulting engineer to th; South Wheal Leisure Tin and Copper Mine, near his father's home in Perranpartli, Cornwall. Mr. Wilfred Alick Black, who lias been for some time managing clerk for .Messrs. Malone, Anderson, and Johnstone, in I heir Stratford office, was ye.-'i-lerday admitted, on the motion of Mr. Johnstone, as a solicitor in the Suprein" Court, of Xew Zealand. Mr. Black is an old New Plymouth boy, and his many friends will be glad to learn of his success.
