' ChristchurcU, Maroli 19. -the biennial demonstration under the auspices of the New Zealand Fire Bripiilcs Association opened on the Extortion sports ground tills afternoon in anything but favorable weather. As n consequence the attendance was limited almost exclusively to inemberft ioS visiting brigades, of whom, however there was a full muster. Three events wore run simultaneously dining the day, only one of these, however, the Three Man Manual, being completed, in which ChristchurcU ucored a line win, beating Tiinaru by n second.
