- - ' Melbourne, March IC. ' The Hob. T. Bent leaves for Loudon next week to arrange a number of financial matters and initiate an immigration policy; also to investigate regarding the Agent-General. Mr Daviea, 'Attorney-General, will be Acting-Premier. The State elections were the quietest in the history of "the State, and a triumph for the sitting members. The parties on present figures arc practically as the were. Labor lost Gceloug, Ballarat, and the Jikajika seats, but gained Bendigo East and Eagle Hawk. Uti Prendergast was returned for North Melbourne. One of the incidents of the election was tho defeat of Mr W. H. Judkins (editor of the "Review of ■Reviews") for Brunswick, Mr Ansteyt (Labor) winning by a majority of, over 700. ■Approximate figures show the positions as follows:—i , Ministerial 61. ' "
