Mr lliohardsou, who has been acting warder at the New Plymouth gaol for the past four or live months, is now a probationary ollicer in the prison service. The liev, W. Lambert died at Wairoa yesterday, at the ago of 7-1, . years. He was until recently vicar of Ormondville, and held various positions iu tho Church in different parts of the colony. Mr A. G. Fnrrar, eustodiau of the Old. People's Home, arrived from Auckland yesterday morning. He has been on a three-months leave of absence, and part of that period has been spent at the Cambridge Sanatorium Mr Farrar is much improved ill health, and took up his duties again yesterday afternoon. Mrs Farrar has also benefitted greatly by the rest. Tho Venerable Archdeacon Samuel Williams died at his residence at Pukckou at!) o'clock last night (says a Press Association telegram from JTapier), after an illness resulting from a ehiil caught a week or two ago. The deceased arrived at the Bay of Islands 85 years ago, and has been connected with the work of Te Ante College and of tho Church of - Jiuglaiid 111 ilawke's Bay since 1553. The funeral takes place oil Saturday at Te Auto.
