Mr lliohardsou, who has been acting warder at the New Plymouth gaol for the past four or live months, is now a probationary ollicer in the prison service. The liev, W. Tho Venerable Archdeacon Samuel Williams died at his residence at Pukckou at!) o'clock last night (says a Press Association telegram from JTapier), after an illness resulting from a ehiil caught a week or two ago. The deceased arrived at the Bay of Islands 85 years ago, and has been connected with the work of Te Ante College and of tho Church of - Jiuglaiid 111 ilawke's Bay since 1553. The funeral takes place oil Saturday at Te Auto.
