THE EASTER CAMP
THE GItOUNJD AT IfIMITAXIU. Lieutenant-Colonel A. Bauehop, commanding the Wellington district, paid a visit to Jlinutanga on Thursday for tho purpose of inspecting the ground which has been placed at the disposal of the department by Messrs. Barber Brothers for the military encampment at Easter. The land extends from the railway line to the Manawatn Uiver, a distance of about seven miles, and is four miles broad. It is eminently si'ited lor the purpose. The soil is good for camping, and there will be live veils to provide good drinking water jor the troops, while there is abo a water race for tile benefit of the animals. The properly i s studded here red tltere uilll patches of bush, the giound generally being of an undulating nature. Thre arc six thousand troops in the Wellington district, and it is hoped tbero "will be a strong force in camp. AU arms wdl be represented. The troops will go in on Thursday -night, ai-d will be engaged in manoeuvres'for dour days. The District Adjutant, Captain T. W. M'iJonald, will be in charge of the. camp.
