Per Press Association. INADEQUATE RAILWAY ROLLING STOCK, Palmers ton North, March 4. At a thoroughly representative meeting held at Uanawatu A. and P. society's offices at Palmerston to-day, vigorous protests were made against the utter inadequacy of the railway rolling slock for tho conveyance of fat stock to freezing works. A deputation consisting „f Messrs L. j£. Jackson (FeilJing ludustrial Association), P. A. McMardy (Mauawatu A and P. Association), J. \V. Johnson (Palmerston Chamber of Commerce), J. W. ]3ramftell (leilding Chamber ol' Coiiunerce), IV, Stubbs (Palmerston branch of the lariners' Union), was appointed to wait on the Minister for Lands when passfaig through Pahne|rton to-day./ The deputation was introduced by Mr W. I. Wood, M.H.E. The Minister's reply was of a non-committal character. He promised to lay ,thc matter before his colleague, tile Minister for Railways. The members of the deputation were appointed a committee to take such steps as tliev consider necessary to endeavor to effect urgent-ly-rpijuired additions to the raihvav rolling stock.
