Seven rinks representing the New Plymouth Bowling Club visited the Stratford green on Thursday afternoon and spent a most eujoyable'time. At the New Plymouth Bowling Club's green on Wed tie-day afternoon two matches wore "played, one between New Plymouth and Waverlcv and later Oil in the day between Fitzrov and Waverlcy. Each team played 'three rinks. Other matches were also played between local players. Owing to the heavy rain of the previous night the first match did not commence until about 2 o'clock.. The turf wa.i slightly Ilea\y at the start. However, all "the players expressed themselves delighted with the green. 111 the first match New Plymouth v. Waverley the home team had all the best of it in two of the i - ink,s, the third rink playing a drawn game. In the match \7lth Fitzroy the southerners lared better, and although two of their rinks iost by a few points the fluid one 'fandfcd them thiy W/innery, with the run over score of 37 to their opponent's 0. During the afternoon, the ladies dispensed afternoon tea. M the conclusion of the matches, Mr I'iinniorson, 011 behalf of tiie Waverley Club, made flattering references to the local green and thanked the members of the New Plymouth Club for the splendid day's outing. Mr li. Cock, called for three cheers for the visitors winch were heartily given. Appended are the scores:—
