Mr K. C. Caohemaillc, of Welling, ton, and Mrs Cachemuillc, daughter of ■me of New Plymouth's old residents, Mrs K. C. Jl-imerton, are spending a month's holiday in New Plymouth. Air G lJninson, manager of the New Plymouth branch of Messrs bargood, Son and Kwen's business, was a passenger by the lioloiti last night for Auckland. He will be absent for about a week.
The British Government recently asked that an expert should be sent from this colony to St. Helena to give instruction in the preparation of ilax for export. Cabinet Ims agreed lo nl low the Chief F] ax Expert, Mr CJ. Fulton, to take up the work for twelve months, and he leaves shortly for the Island.
Er If. P. Pickerill, of Birmingham, j has been appointed Director of the I School of Dentistry in connection with the Otago University. Me has very high qualifications, including a testimonial from Sir Oliver Lodge, which st ites that " For such a position as Director of a School of Dentistry, Dr Pickciill is ratherjpre-cminently qualified."
