Mr Geo. Morse's adjustments for the Taranaki Jockey Club's meeting appear on the whole to be fairly satisfactory. In the Cup, however, Muhifll appeirs to have obtained his fu'l disserts with i). 3to carry. M- rgueri e has elcy 11 pounds more than she carried to victory b the Egmont Cup, Suit she is I iuch a good mare and won licr ra -c frith such ease that tli: cxira wei jht should not stop her. Pi'rituiu is very licely placed, as is also Armistice, but star Rose with 7.U can liave no posnbie chance, judging from his per for. uancc at Hairera. Truce, who ran seond to Marguerite, now meets the later on 71b better terms, but still J 'rosser's mare will again beat her at lie weights. Lower down the list is | Jlcnullin, who has a nice handy reight, and if the Loehiel horee can tay the cttra distance—which, from ray he finished up his task at Jfawcra ,ycr a mile and a i)uai'ter, he should jc able to do—he should at least be tmong the placed division. Perhaps he winner may come from l'urilulu, ilenullm or Marguerite. The Manilla Hack 1! icing Club's lopular meeting takes| place on April iJth. ''he prize-m.u.'y is p u'ticulai'ly ;iod again and should atlra-i I lie best lass of hacks. The ■lub is welllaaaged and deserves the ]at ronape of masti aul the general public.
