Amid a scene of terror as the Larehniont sank, ten female Salvation ists, kneeling on the deck, sang, "Onward, Christian Soldiers!" Nineteen survivors were severely frost-bitten, the spray coating them in iee. Thirty bodies, encased j n ice, W e V e recovered on the beach, and fourteen others were frozen to death ill drifting boats.
FIERCE FIGHTS FOR THE BOATS. Deceived Id, 10.31 a.m. New Yobk, February 14. Men and women fought fiercely for place in the Lirchmont's boats, and many were drowned. In one boat containing nine persons, seven were frozen to death, one cut his throat and one waded ashore.
