Mext day she was rolliaa heavily m mountainous seas, which caused tlio ballast of pebbles to shift throwing the vessel on her beam end.! J-he masts wero cut away to try to strughten her, but she lay for six davg with the lee bulwarks under water buffeted about by the gttle. The crew worked hard trying to bring the vessel on an even keel, but the position only grew worse, aud she was abandoned on the morning of January 25th in sight ot Lord Howe Island, which the boats reached the same night. Both crews speak highly of the kind treatment they received on the Island
