Williamson, the well-known theatrical entrepeneur, arrived in Wellington from Sidney yesterday, frid was recorded a Mayoral reception, At the conclusion of the Military Band practice on Wednesday night, the members tendered a smoke social to Mr it. M. Southam, one of the band's old members, who leaves today on a visit to the Old Country. On behalf of the members Mr E. Humphries presented the guest with a ease of silver-mounted pipes, and also handed to lum the inscribed aneroid presented by Mr 0 0. Ward to the member who had recorded the largest number of attendances during the year. Mr Southam suitably replied. Songs and recitations were given, and a very enjoyable gathering terminated just before midnight.
