BUSY DAY IN WAITARA
Friday was a busy day in Waitara—the river was alive with shipping. The Manukau dropped the barges alongside, and then went Ikc k to the lree/ing works wharf, and was kept busy the day through. Anohu' stall could be I seen repairing and o locating the old wharf built in the 'f'O's by the Railway Department for the lau ling of railway material. Across tl lo road the hammer ind trowed were heard on the re-bui'ding of the two hotols recently destroyed hj; lire. Altogether the river port was brisk and businesslike.
