Miss McXicol, of Ross, Wesfland. has been recomniended by the coniiiiit fee for appointment as assistant teacher at Oaonui school. Mr 0. S. Kcnnell has been appointed secretary to liie Kew l'lyinouth Investment .Society. His father, the laic .Mr Clarence ltennell, held the position for a very long period of years. Mr T. Hutchison, S.M'., will probably leave on a trip to the Old Country about the end of February. His successor for the time being is .Mr Uid(lell, ti.M. ilr W. A. 1). JJanks, Clerk of tin: Court at Xew .Plymouth, leaves for the South on Friday for his holidays. Sir Carrnd. of the Wellington S.M. Court stall', is the relieving oilieer. Mrs Kennedy was selected bv the Lincoln road and Makahu school coinuiittees as teacher. She acceplcd the latter, and now the Makahu commit tee has recomniended the name of Hiss Williams to the Hoard. Mr dames Clark, president of the Taninaki Caledonian and Athletic Association, was elected one of [ii 0 , vicepresidents of the New Zealand Athletic t'nion at the Conference at Cliristcliurch on Isaturdav, which Mr Clark attended as Taninuki delegate. Master Douglas llarle, who recenlly won a Queen's Scholarship, lotii on Ihe list of the colony, won an ll'du cation Hoard Scholarship last vear. During the past year he has been a scholar of the New Plymouth High School. He is l:( years of age. and a sou of Mr <;. ||.'llarle, Chief Clerk at the local Post Ollice.

Adjutant Macaiikiy, the officer commanding ihe local Salvation Aanny corps, is to be transferred, to Wailgii nui station, where he is to lake charge. Fn.sign (ice and Captain Fisher, of Woodvillc, (both lady officers) will be transferred to Xow j'lymoulli. Lieut. Scott, of the local corps, will remain acre. The Adjutant expects to leave on Wednesday. February 7th, and on Tuesday evening next he will be farewrelled by the local Salvationists at the barrack's.
