■Some trouble lias been occasioned by water finding its way into tne air pipes of the Exhibition organ. New pipes of galvanised iron have now been provided in a, new position, where water is less likely to roach them, and it i., thought tiie organ will be availabe for use again aniost iminediatey. The Exhibition authorities were unable to make arrangements with Mr Massey, organist of Jlathurst I'-.ithu-drill, to give a second scries of organ recitals before id's return to Sidney, but Dr. iira.lshaw, organist at Christ church Anglican Cathedral, will give a number of concerts very soon. The orchestra is expected back on Friday, and will be heard in the concert hall that afternoon, and every future af ternoon during the.fortnight's season of West's Pictures and the JireScians. The promenade concert, waich was to have been given on the sports ground to-night, was abandoned owing to the cold, windy weather. The Newcastle- Band is applying lo the New South Wales Government for a subsidy of .CliOU towards 'their expenses of competing at the International Hand Contest at the Exhibition from February 11th to Kith . The .Minister in charge, tiie lion, ill- Millar, states be hopes to have judges of exhibits appointed within a week from now.
'fly Education Department's (large! exhibits in the home industries section has received from llerlin, through ihe Foreign Ollice at London, n number of photos, diagrams, and pamphlets relating to school furniture. These, to got her with special desks that have lately been received from various education boards in the colony, make up an exhibit peculiarly interesting to teachers.
The Agricultural Department imaking a special display of honey extracted from the Exhibition apiary, ol of which there is sufficient quantity to all'ord an excellent exhibit. The fourth exhibition of Pain's London fireworks will take place to-night. No charge is being made for admission to these displays.
